I honestly think habits may be more important than goals. Your daily habits are the mechanism to long term achievement. Scroll a bit for some ideas for morning & evening habits to incorporate into your routine 🙂

One of the books that really influenced my mindset and shifts toward a healthy lifestyle was the book Atomic Habits. I read this book around 3 years ago and it’s still one of my favorites (and still influential in my life). One of the main ideas is to focus on creating systems in order to accomplish goals. I had a deeply negative dialogue toward myself (still working on it tbh) when I was reading this book it inspired me to create change toward a sustainable healthy lifestyle. I’d been interested in health for a couple of years prior, but drifted down a weird health rabbit hole toward the beginning of high school. SO – I knew internally I needed to make a change and this book was definitely a motivator .

Since then, I’ve loved experimenting with routines that energize me and set me up for success day to day. I LOVE routine as it creates a sort of stability in my life amid other changes. And now, I enjoy daily routines & habits sooo I have lots of thoughts about this lol. Here are some habits I’m currently incorporating into my morning and evening routines. I definitely want to do an in depth post about my ever changing morning & evening routines as well.
MORNING
- meditation – LOVE the insight timer app
- journaling: affirmations + gratitude
- cold shower – biggest challenge for sure
- morning walk (2 in 1 – morning sunlight)
- delay coffee w/ food
- no phone/scrolling for first hour

EVENING
- post dinner walk
- bedtime bev: Calm magnesium + Ultima electrolytes
- blue light glasses + no scrolling 30 min before bed
- plannin’: to do + sched for tmrw
- 8 hours of sleep!! (most nights ofc)
These are a few things I try to implement day to day! I don’t complete every habit on this list daily but make time for the ones that matter most and make me feel best based on my sched.
Q: what are your essential habits?
