Daily writing prompt
How do you express your gratitude?

Starting the day with gratitude is something that I know improves my mindset. I do this through gratitude journaling – writing down what I’m grateful for each day.

my morning journaling routine (more info to come!):

  • 5 things you’re grateful for (at least)
  • 3 affirmations (at least)
  • how are you feeling? what’s on your mind

I think it’s important to think about the small things regarding gratitude and write something different each morning. Thinking of experiences, people, etc. specific to your own life may requires a bit more thought, but really allows you to realize how much there is to look forward to in your own life.

In the evening, I write down my wins from the day. A “win” can be any event from the day, big or small. A lot of times it may be my favorite meal from that day or that I fit in a great workout. This is a quick and easy way to reflect on what went well at the end your day. I notice this practice helps me end my day in a positive state instead of dwelling on what I could’ve done better or worrying about tomorrow.

  • to do list for tomorrow (top 6 items)
  • at least 5 wins
  • whatever’s on my mind

Aside from journaling, taking time throughout the day to pause and be grateful is something you can begin to implement now
